 Board of Directors.   The Board of Directors’ primary responsibility is to supervise management of the bank’s affairs by providing effective corporate governance. Job Description:

  • Identify and evaluate the banks risk areas and provide key input to the development of the Annual Audit Plan.
  • Perform audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analysing evidence, and documenting auditee processes and procedures.
  • Understand and evaluate processes and related controls.
  • Design and supervise the execution of the tests of controls.
  • Obtain background information on the areas to be audited.
  • Gather preliminary information on risks and controls for an individual internal audit project or assignment.
  • Prepare an audit approach that describes in detail the nature, timing, and extent of our internal audit procedures for an individual audit project.
  • Prepare work programs to be aligned with engagement scope and requirements.
  • Conduct interviews, review documents, develop and administer surveys, compose summary memos, and prepare working papers.
  • Identify, develop, and document audit issues and recommendations using independent judgment concerning areas being reviewed.
  • Communicate or assist in communicating the results of audit and advisory projects via written reports and oral presentations to management.
  • Develop and maintain productive auditee and staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings.
  • Stay abreast of general business/economic developments and new pronouncements/standards, to gain an understanding of their links and impact to the auditee’s business. Understand and apply technical standards.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and share information gained with co-workers.
  • Represent Internal Audit on bank project teams, at management meetings and with external banks.
  • Provide or assist in providing training, coaching and guidance to Internal Audit staff in conducting audits and other audit-related issues.
  • Perform related work as assigned by audit management.
  • Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
  • Allocate work to direct reportees, nominate for training as per Assaray Bank's guidelines and conduct performance review.
  • Provide employees with a work environment that is open and conductive to effective task performance, personal development and career growth.
  • Supervise direct reportees in day to day tasks and provide appropriate feedback and counselling.
  • Perform on the job training and coaching through providing workshops and lessons learnt sessions.

 

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business Administration, economics, or any related field from a recognized university. Professional Certification such as CIA, CPA, CISA, CMA, and/or CFE is preferable.

  • About 4-7 years of related experience of which a minimum of 2 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry.
