Small independent film company based in Vancouver, Canada is producing a documentary on Libya. The film company is looking to hire someone who can act as a fixer for the film crew when they travel to Libya to conduct interviews and film scenes for the documentary. The individual will be hired to work part-time prior to the film crew's arrival and will then be hired full-time on contract for the duration of the shoot.
The role of the local production coordinator (fixer) will be to arrange travel, book accommodations, act as a translator, and to set up/schedule interviews prior to the film crew's arrival. This individual will also be called upon to help make sure all of the appropriate film permits are obtained from the various levels of government in order for the film crew to be able to begin working as soon as they arrive in Libya.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Language: English and Arabic
- Be outgoing/personable
- Have a good understanding of curent events in Libya
- Able to work alone and to work long days
- Very well organized
- Experience of acting as a local production coordinator (fixer) would be an asset but not a requirement
- Team player
- Logistics experience
