Data-Collection Officer

PROGRAM BACKGROUND:

Under the award specific to this position, International Medical Corps provides medical care, non-food item (NFI) distributions, and outreach services to highly vulnerable populations in Libya, including refugees and asylum seekers through a Community Development Center (CDC).

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Data-Collection Officer is responsible for facilitating registration, data-collection, and other assistance interventions for visitors at the CDC.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tasks include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Identifying highly vulnerable populations among CDC visitors;
  2. Ensuring that community services are provided as needed;
  3. Counselling refugees and asylum seekers;
  4. Providing complete and timely reporting on visitors’ protection needs;
  5. Conducting registration interviews, maintaining a registration and counselling database, and providing regular daily inputs;
  6. In cooperation with CDC staff, coordinating beneficiaries’ registration and data collection activities between IMC and partners;
  7. Providing detailed weekly and monthly reports of counselling sessions and data-collection activities and follow-up on individual cases;
  8. Ensuring daily maintenance of database and documentation of contact with beneficiaries;
  9. Participating in outreach visits to facilitate services for those who cannot directly access the CDC; and
  10. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and many administrative details in a fast paced and constantly changing environment;
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, in English and Arabic
  • Excellent self-motivation skills
  • Ability to successfully and professionally work with a broad spectrum of people;
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently;

  • PC literate, excellent word processing skills. Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and other general experience with software programs;
  • Extremely flexible, and have the ability to cope with stressful situations and frustrations;
  • Creativity and the ability to work with limited resources;
  • Must be able to work independently under difficult conditions.
  • Experience with NGOs is an advantage
