Description

          Assignment

  • To ensure cash management and accountancy for ACTED projects in Benghazi (and Sabha) follows internal procedures, is transparent and accurate.
  • Under the direct supervision of Country Finance Manager & Finance officer.
  • Provides reports to Finance officer and Country finance Manager.

      
  • Position:                       Finance Assistant.
  • Department:                  Finance.
  • Gender:                         Any.
  • Contract Duration:        4 months (renewable).
  • Location:                       Benghazi/ Libya.
  • Starting date:                 ASAP.
  • Closing date:                 8th Sep 2016.

  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and Arabic essential.
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel.

  • Responsibilities

               Functions

    ·          Accounting :

    Ä   Advance/loan follow up at Area level.

    Ä   Supervision and technical support to Cashier.

    Ä   Uploading in Saga all Base Books.

    Ä   Mid-month Cash Book review

     

    ·          Cash :

    Ä  Responsible of payment follow up, weekly cash forecasting and transfers to field locations.

    Ä  Management, with the Head of Department, banking relationship.

    Ä  Supervision of finance filling (vouchers, cash checking, bank statements, bank reconciliation).

    Ä  Participate on weekly cash checking.

     

    ·         Payment Procedure :

    Ä  Make sure that all documents are signed as per ACTED procedures before purchase.

    Ä  In absence of Finance officer, responsible for signing purchase orders

    Ä  Responsible for checking signed payment vouchers before payment is uploaded to SAGA and before physical voucher are sent to Tunis.

     

    ·         Filling :

    Ä  Responsible for final check and filing (monthly basis)

    Ä  Prepare vouchers to be sent to Tunis (monthly basis)

     

     

    ·         Compliance

    Ä  Support compliance team in any voucher research during the audit

     

    ·         Others

    Ä  Any other duties as assigned by your line manager.
