Re-Opening Logistic Assistant in Sabha Office

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Libya Delegation is recruiting a  Logistic Assistant  in its office in Sabha, Libya. The Logistic Assistant will act as a logistic focal point in the Southern part of Libya for all logistics related activities and coordinates logistics activities in cooperation with the Head of Sabha Office (HoO) and Logistics Coordinator.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

Supply Chain Management: Manages all internal requests and Requisition Orders (RO) processing as per ICRC's standard ICRC's Logistics procedure in close collaboration with Tripoli Sub-Delegation.

 

Procurement Management: Manages and coordinates procurement of goods and services for Sabha Office based on ICRC standard Logistics procedures. Ensures the Requisition Order (RO) and Purchase Order (PO) management procedures are followed according to ICRC Financial and Logistical rules and regulations through Tripoli Sub Delegation. Issues selection tables and prepares the contracts when necessary ensuring required approval from the Logistics Coordinator and Head of Sabha Office and transmit to Tripoli logistics.

 

Warehousing: Arranges pick up and dispatch of the cargo by air or road & acknowledges receipt of cargo from Tripoli or other sites. Sends all relevant documents (signed packing lists and way bills) to Tripoli logistics . manages daily worker as well. Responsible of conducting monthly and yearly inventory of medical stocks.

 

Fleet / Transport Management: Administratively manages the fleet assets of Sabha Office be it ICRC or rental vehicles. Regularly shares information about fuel consumption, maintenance and use of assets with Fleet focal point as well as Head of Sabha Office and Logistics Coordinator. Monitors transports and ensures the necessary agreements and transport contracts are in place and up to date.

 

General Activities: Provides technical and operational support in the areas of purchasing, supply chain and stock management also provides administrative support in the areas fleet management and maintenance. Ensures that the ICRC Standard Logistics procedures and financial rules are well respected in Sabha Office.

 

Required background, skills and experience:

 

·         University degree

·         Minimum 3-4 years working experience in a similar field (Logistics an asset but not a requirement)

·         Excellent command of spoken and written English / Mother tongue Arabic

·         Excellent computer skills (Windows, Lotus Notes, Office etc.)

·         Excellent organizational and methodical abilities

·         Service oriented with a strong sense for setting of responsibilities, priorities and flexibility.

·         Good communication and negotiation skills

·         Willingness to learn

·         Ability to work independently and sense of initiative

·         Capacity to adhere to general ICRC procedures

·         Driving license an asset

·         Interest for humanitarian activities (especially ICRC's).
