Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Marine Ops - Chief Officer, based in Libya- FPSO about 160 Km from tripoli at offshore filed.
The Marine officer is responsible for general supervision of the deck operations and is responsible for ensuring the safe execution of such.
The position reports to the Marine Superintendent.
The Marine Supervisor is responsible for Health, Safety and Environmental Management of the Deck Operations on board the FPSO. He is also responsible for the general supervision of these operations, including crude oil transfer operations.
During export operations, the Safety and Marine Supervisor replaces the Marine Superintendent.
The position requires rigorous enforcement of the HSE procedures and the RMS established for the facility. This responsibility includes the organization and control of the safety procedures application, organizing and coordinating on board training exersizes and emergency response drills.
The safe offloading of waste products and sewerage is also included under his responsibility.
In the event of an oil spill, the Safety and Marine Supervisor will implement the “oil spill response plan” defined for the FPSO facility.
The Marine Supervisor will supervise the general deck operations, including materials and equipment handling, crane operations, bunkering, transfer of supplies, vessels mooring alongside.
He will ensure that these activities are carried out in accordance with the established procedures.
The Deck Foreman – Berthing Master and the junior Deck Hands must be made aware of the correct procedures and their activities supervised to ensure compliance.
He must be aware at all times of personnel crew movements on and off the vessel and follow closely the shift operations planning.
During crude offloading and inert gas operations, the Safety and Marine Supervisor must be present at all times. He will have overall responsibility for approving the crude distribution between storage tanks, and for controlling sediment deposits and the sediment measuring process. Ballast transfers, FPSO stability and mooring loads also come under his supervision.
The Marine Supervisor plans and controls the crude oil washing and the correct use and maintenance of the associated equipment.
