OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

Under overall guidance of the CS Project Manager and Project Officer, and the direct supervision of the Project Operations Officer, the Operations Assistant will be responsible in providing assistance for the development and the implementation of small grants activities promoting social cohesion

 

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

Role objective:

Providing assistance for the development and the implementation of small grants activities promoting social cohesion

 

Expected output:

- Support the Community Stabilisation (CS) Project Operations Officer in planning and managing the community stabilisation Project Portfolio in close coordination with relevant project partners and stakeholders including government authorities, national and international agencies, NGOs/CSOs working groups ect

 

- Providing technical inputs for the effective implementation of the projects through developing work plans, procurement plan and monitoring and evaluation plans

 

- Identify risks and challenges in project development and implementation and suggest recommendation on mitigating strategies to the CS Project Operations Officer and stakeholder

 

- Provide regular communication with Project Operation Officer on progress and where relevant on additional needs in relation to the project implementation and follow up activities

 

- Ensure regular communication with Project Operation Officer and field staff in Benghazi, including timely submissions of reports, meeting minutes, tracking tools, and documentation of beneficiary data

 

- Assist in the effective implementation of the overall Community Stabilisation activities in Benghazi in order to ensure a timely delivery of planned assistance to the beneficiaries

 

- Monitor the performance of hired services providers and implementation partners, including financial tracking , information management and reporting

 

- Conduct regular activity site visits and provide recommendations for effective and efficient implementation of the activities

 

Project reporting:

Reporting to the CS Project Manager

 

Team management:

This role doesn't require field management

 

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Education:

§  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, international Relations, Political Science or an equivalent combination of relevant training.

 

Work experience:

§  Minimum of 4 years of demonstrable relevant Administration experience.

 

Geographical experience:

§  Minimum of 4 years of experience in Africa with local experience in Tripoli, Libya is an advantage.

 

Languages:

§  Fluency in Arabic and English are essential.

Education

University degree in Business Administration, international Relations, Political Science or an equivalent combination of relevant training and a minimum of four years field experience
