General Information

The organization

Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political, and non-religious international aid organization. Our teams are committed to supporting civilian victims of marginalization and exclusion, natural disasters, wars, and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people in order to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency. The association leads an average of 190 projects per year in the following sectors of intervention: food security, health, nutrition, infrastructure, WASH, and economic recovery. PUI is providing assistance to 5 million people in 21 countries – in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Eastern Europe and France in 2017.

 

PUI is starting operations in Libya with a health intervention in Benghazi to improve access to quality healthcare for individuals affected by the ongoing conflict in Benghazi and its surroundings. The Mission is currently organised with a Coordination Office in Tunis with overall authority for the mission under the Head of Mission. The Operations Office in Benghazi is overseen by a Deputy Head of Mission. Regular monitoring visits by the Coordination Office to the field office(s) in Libya will take place until Coordination can be based in Libya.

 

Job Description

 Overall purpose

 

Under the direct supervision of the Mobile Health Clinical Team Leader in MHCs and the technical supervision of PUI’s IMO, the Registration Assistant is responsible for welcoming all patients at the PHCC, conducting initial patient registration and information recording and reporting.

 

 

Responsibilities and scope of duties

Specific Responsibilities

 

1.       FULFIL REGISTRATION DUTIES (PATIENT REGISTRATION AND REPORTING)

·          Be the first point of contact for patients attending the PHCC

·          Working closely with the nurse in charge of the triage;

·          Ensuring the welcoming of the patient and family members in the waiting area, in a safe and quiet atmosphere;

·          Registering patient information in the registration book and summarizing in relevant tally sheets;

·          Record registration data accurately and completely;

·          Summarize registration data in daily and weekly tally sheets in reports to Clinic Team Leader and the IMO;

·          Treating all patients equally with respect of ethical and confidential issues.

·          Being respectful of the patients and their relatives;

·          Provide patients with basic information about the clinic and its services;

·          Ensure a good level of communication and understanding between the PHCC team and the patients;

·          Check if the patient understands the given instructions.

·          Ensure understanding of the functioning of the PHCC and that patients know where to go and what to expect.

·          Work closely with clinic staff to ensure efficient patient flow according to approved protocols;

Attend PUI internal medical team meetings;

 

 

1.       OTHER DUTIES

·          Reports concerns or requests from patients or their families about PUI services to the MHC Team Leader;

·          Follows safety and security rules on-base

 

In General, the Incumbent has to remain flexible and to perform any other duties as required for the good care of patients
