OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants

 

GENERAL FUNCTIONS

Role objective:

Under the direct supervision of the Operations Officer and the overall supervision of the Senior Operations Officer, the incumbent will support the implementation of AVRR operations in compliance with IOM established procedures to ensure orderly and timely movements and reintegration of returnees in their countries of return.

 

Expected output:

• Verify migrant/documents identity as necessary

• Receive and register travel documents, make entries into IOM data base/Mimosa, as required per SOPs.

• Cfeate proflights in MiMOSA and proflight files as assigned by Operations officer.

• Track travel documents expiration deadlines and make airline bookings/check schedules in AMADEUS as required

• Make airline bookings for migrants in accordance with IOM SOPs.

• Communicate with the airlines on proflight related issues, name lists, booking details, domestic bookings, additions, deletions, refunds, etc.

Listens  effectively  and  communicates  clearly,  adapting  delivery  to the

audience.

 

Project reporting:

Reporting to Operations Officer

 

Team management:

This role doesn't require team management

 

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Education:

§  Diploma in in Communication or related field.

 

Work experience:

§  Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable relevant Administration experience.

 

Geographical experience:

§  Minimum of 3 years of experience in Africa with local experience in Libya is an advantage.

 

Languages:

§  Fluency in Arabic and English are essential.
